I hold a Bachelor of Science in Voice Performance and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Indiana State University. I received my Doctor of Arts degree in Voice Performance from Ball State University.
I am excited to return to Indiana after living in south India for two years, and then Wyoming for two years! It is such an honor to teach the students at St. Bartholomew!
My teaching philosophy is ever-changing. The more I learn and experience, the more I integrate into my lessons and teaching style. Some things that never change, however, are my focus on inclusivity, engagement, and empathy. Music is for everyone! Music serves us in praise, mindfulness, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being! I believe humans are blessed to be given such a beautiful way to express our uniqueness. Music immerses us in cross-discipline subjects, social skills, emotion regulation, and FUN!
I have taught voice and violin privately for 14 years, and have over 12 years of classroom instruction, theatre, and ensemble direction experience. I also love to play and teach piano, guitar, and ukulele.
Performing has taken me to many places throughout my life. I have sung opera in Italy, India, and the US. I had the opportunity to perform several music theatre roles in Indiana, as well as sing with a rock band in India!
In my spare time, you can catch me playing guitar or ukulele along to any 1980s jam...when I am not playing with my dog Magnolia, baking sweeties, or coloring!
