Hello! My name is Elizabeth Schiavello, and I am glad to be in my 11th year teaching first grade at Saint Bartholomew Catholic School. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. After working in social work for four years, I returned to school for teaching certification. I am certified in Elementary Education, and I have a Reading Certificate for K-12. I worked at St. Margaret of York Catholic School in Loveland, Ohio as a Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. I also taught adult education GED courses in Cincinnati, Ohio.
When my husband Chuck and I moved to Columbus, we enrolled our oldest son, Zachary, at Saint Bartholomew Catholic School. He is now a Senior at The Ohio State University. Our son Nicholas is a Freshman at Wheaton College, and Jack is a Sophomore at Columbus North.
Each year my goal is that my students will enjoy school and feel like important members of our class family. I want them to learn and enjoy what they are doing with an emphasis on faith. First Grade is full of lots of new things. There is so much growth in all areas, and I am thrilled to share this time with my students.
