I have been teaching for many years. I taught first grade for 11 years and have experience with fourth grade as well as grades K – 9. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Purdue University and a Masters, Middle School Science Endorsement, an ESL License and a Reading License from Indiana University.
I am married and have three children, all of whom graduated from Saint Bartholomew. All my children have graduated college. I firmly believe that all children can learn and should be encouraged and supported to be all that they can be. The sky is only the beginning. I love working with all of my students! They are all so very talented and special. I really enjoy watching the light come on when they understand something. They are great kids!!!
As the Title III Teacher and a Title I Teacher at Saint Bartholomew School, I use research-based programs to help the children from Title I schools and those who are learning English as a second language. I work with children, who are experiencing difficulties with math, reading, or literacy in other contents areas of the curriculum, gain needed skills and proficiency. I provide intensified instruction by working with some students individually or in small groups, depending on the needs of the student and the academic environment. I enhance the grade-level curriculum by adapting it to meet the needs of the Title I and Title III students. Occasionally, I will modify assessments and assignments to the learning level of the Title students.
