Hello! My name is Carrie Scherschel, and this is my first year here at St. Bartholomew as a teacher. I have had many jobs at the school over the years. I have been a parent, room mom, substitute teacher, and on School Commission.
I attended Ball State University and received my Bachelor of Science in Education in 2000. My primary focus was Early Childhood Education and Kindergarten-Primary Education with a minor in Special Education. In 2012, I graduated from IUPUI, Indianapolis with my master’s degree in special education. My specialty while at IUPUI was Autism.
I have taught Special Education for five years and then moved to being a Behavior Consultant for individuals on the Medicaid Waiver. I have found both careers rewarding and will continue to work in both fields.
My husband Josh (a St. Bartholomew Alumni) and I have one child (Evan) who attends St. Bartholomew as a fifth grader this year. I enjoy spending time outside, camping, baking, and reading. We are hosting an exchange student this year and cannot wait to include him in our craziness!
I am very excited about this school year! My goal is to help the children be the best that they can be and to make a difference in someone’s lives. I cannot wait to help guide your child through this journey!
