Kindergarten builds upon the foundation laid in Preschool, where your child is guided on how to work independently and collectively with ample time to learn through play. The curricular emphasis turns to reading, writing, and grade-appropriate math principles, inspired by our Catholic faith. Our Kindergarten program also utilitzes Minds in Motion, a kinesthetic approach to teaching and learning academic curriculum (reading, math, science, history) using creative movement, dance, and simple movement activities. Families work alongside teachers to guide students on organizational skills and independent learning. Upon completion, your child will be first grade ready, confident and prepared to continue learning.
Kindergarten classrooms are equipped with engaging learning centers, outdoor play spaces, interactive white boards, and student access to technology, such as iPads.
Kindergarten students are part of our St. Bartholomew Buddy Program, they are paired with 7th graders who mentor them throughout the year. They sit with their buddies at Mass, during school-wide events and their Buddies act as their "pit crew" for the Kindy 500.
